This is my first all-in-one home cinema system that I have owned (my others have all been component systems).
First of all, the system was very easy to connect. It came with long speaker wires and the cheaper type of television connection cables (HDMI and optical cables were not included). Everything was set up in about 20 minutes.
Connections in back are HDMI out, video out, component out, optical in, and audio in. It would be nice to have some video inputs but that would be on a more expensive Samsung system.
Next of all the sound quality is good for a system of this price. Yes you can spend more and get something better but if you want a simple surround sound system, this is a very good setup. Listening to a Miles Davis CD, the sound was well reproduced. I do wish the sub-woofer had a separate volume control but it is not too loud.
There are also different presets for the receiver but I would recommend setting it on Matrix for the best surround sound. If you chose a non digital setting there are equalizer presets to choose from including settings like Movie, Church, and Club.
Digital television sound was also good but I would recommend an optical cable for best sound quality.
The DVD player also does HD upscaling and does it fairly well.
Overall I am very pleased with this surround sound system from Samsung.
