It can be used for two AA or AAA or one 9V NiHM battery. The charger detects automatically which battery type you have inserted. Additionally it is equipped with a USB socket with the matching output for iPhone, iPod series and cellphones etc. which allows you to charge, e.g. your iPhone with the charger.
