I bought this airco 2 months ago for a bedroom of 12m (36 cub m), with large single glazed windows facing south, which have light blocking curtains. With direct sunlight, even with curtains closed, the temperatures in the room can get very high. The airco managed to keep the temperature levels acceptable. I set it to 21C and it kept the room between 21 and 22.5C (down from 26). within a few minutes you could feel the difference.
The fan in the airco seemed powerful enough. The airco has heating and air-flow functions, which I didn't test.
The noise levels are acceptable, especially if you're trying to sleep - it's like white noise. However, reading reviews of other airco's, I think some people might not enjoy it. There's not a lot to do about the noise with this type of airco's because the engine will always be inside the room. The exhaust pipe is also a shared issue with similar type of airco's, it'll always be a bit clumsy.
From a design perspective, the airco itself is a bit less "square" shaped and is not a complete eye-sore.
The airco delivers with the description in the AEG website. I believe it will work in bigger rooms as well, but will not cool an entire apartment
