Worst service experience I ever had:
The summary: I lost time, money, half a terabyte of files, and a mouse.
I asked them to replace my computer's SSD, and I ended up waiting weeks only to find that they deleted 500 GB of files (from another drive!). I asked for a refund, and I got a notification saying "refund reverted" because apparently they didn't finish the refund process...
When I left my computer at MediaMarkt, I specifically asked for a migration of the SSD and told them not to touch the HDD (as my computer has two drives). After a week passed with no news, I went back, only to find out they hadn't even started the process, or they had copied the wrong drive. They were never clear about what happened that week. I decided to leave a written note saying they had to copy the SSD and not touch the HDD. I repeated this several times and wrote it down myself because I noticed no one was taking notes or paying attention to what I was saying.
More time passed, and I had to go there several times just to get answers about what was going on. When I finally gave up and took my computer home (in the same state I had left it more than three weeks earlier), I found that the HDD (the drive I kept telling them not to touch) was completely empty... Half a terabyte of information was gone.
I went back to get a refund and a solution, they gave me the refound, but they didn't propose anything. I asked to speak to the manager, and they told me they would contact me to schedule a meeting. Of course, that never happened.
A week later, I realized they also took the dongle of my wireless mouse... So now I need a new mouse as well.
And as if that weren't enough to be upset about, today I discovered that the refund I got is going to be reversed because they apparently didn't finish the refund process properly, so now I also have to waste time making sure this gets resolved.
Summary:
- I asked for the SSD to be copied and installed - I was told they copied the HDD by mistake or that they did nothing at all (I'll never know).
- I was told it would be a two-day job - More than three weeks passed without clear updates.
- I asked twice beforehand if the new drive I bought was compatible, and they said yes - After three weeks, I was told the drive wasn't compatible.
- I wanted to return the incompatible drive - They threw away the box.
- I tried calling several times for updates - No one ever called me back.
- I had to go there multiple times, wasting a lot of time, to finally get someone to call me with updates.
- Their solution to all of this was for me to buy a new and more expensive drive from them with only a 20€ discount.
- They deleted 500 GB of files from the drive I repeatedly asked them not to touch.
- Now I have a mouse without a dongle.
- The refund I received could be reversed as they apparently didn’t complete the process. New problem I have to take care of now.
